What is done during a transmission service?

The main objective of a transmission service is to replace filters, flush out the old transmission fluid and replace it with new fluid we also examine the sump pump or pan and make adjustments where necessary. The pan is cleaned and a new pan gasket and filter is installed.

Is a transmission service necessary?

A Transmission service is a factory recommended maintenance service to ensure the longevity of your transmission.

Over time your transmission fluid becomes contaminated and degrades losing its cleaning and lubricating components causing damage to the internal mechanical parts, hydraulic valves and clutch responsible for shifting gears. 

Signs that you may need a transmission service include 

· Check engine light or transmission warning light is on 

· Clutch shudder 

· Slipping gears or rough shifts

· Transmission fluid is leaking 

· Slow gear engagement 

· Poor vehicle acceleration

How often do you need to service your transmission?
